Synopsis
In 1971, George Khan, a fish-and-chip shop owner from Salford, holds firm to his strict Pakistani Muslim beliefs, expecting his family to comply. Yet, his children—raised in Britain by an English mother—begin to embrace their British identity, pushing back against their father’s rules on attire, food, faith, and lifestyle.
